On Sept. 10 we resumed our schedule of offering children’s religious education classes at both 9 and 11 a.m. on most Sundays. The children will join their parents in the Sanctuary for the first 10-15 minutes of the worship service and then be led to their classes in the Lower Level by their teachers.
There will be no R.E. classes once a month when we have intergenerational worship services. On those Sundays, the children are invited to be with their parents/guardians in the Sanctuary the entire time. Also, there is a Service Sunday once a month when all or most of the R.E. children participate in a service project instead of having regular classes.
On all Sundays we will offer free nursery care for infants to 3-year-olds from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
11 a.m. R.E. classes end at 12:15 p.m. Pre-school through 3rd Grade children will await pickup by their parents or guardians while older children will be dismissed to join their families on their own at that time.
May 2018 R.E. Class Schedule
- May 6: Regular R.E. classes
- May 13: Flower Communion Intergenerational Service
- May 20: Last Day of R.E. classes for church year

Our spacious and well-equipped nursery is available for use at no charge during the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services. Our nursery class serves children from 4 months through pre-potty-trained 3-year-olds. Our nursery aides are contracted to have full responsibility for no more than three children each. Two aides work each Sunday. Parents and others are strongly encouraged to assist with care when there are more than six children in the nursery.
Junior Youth Night – 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, May 4
Junior Youth (6-8th grade) will be having their final meeting of the year. They will be celebrating our graduates and having fun before saying goodbye for the summer.
Pie and Board Games – 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12
Childcare available upon request.
Graduation Sunday – 11 a.m. worship service on May 20
Graduation time is upon us, and we celebrate many of the young UUs we have watched growing up at UUCC as they graduate! We will honor them as part of our 11 a.m. worship service on May 20. Graduating seniors and their families who want to take part in the service should contact Jamila by May 6.
Parents are asked to write a letter to their child (using no names) that will be read anonymously to the teens during the worship service. The letter is the parents’ celebration of who their child has become and best wishes for the years of transition into adulthood that lie ahead. Please get letters to Jamila by May 13. If you have any questions about writing your letter, Jamila will be happy to answer them.
