On the Nov. 29 Thanksgiving holiday Sunday, we held our first All-Church Service Sunday, gathering at the church at 11 a.m. to light our chalice, sing together, and share our joys and sorrows, and then fanning out to engage in several different service projects, both outside the church and at the church. The event was a success, with about 60 adults and children participating in the service projects (listed below).

The Center Project, Columbia’s LGBTQ Community Center: Helping stuff envelopes for a fundraising drive and helping with any cleanup or organizing requested.
Loaves & Fishes/Turning Point at Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church: Deep cleaning of kitchen and Homeless Day Center space.
Central Missouri Humane Society: Interacting with and exercising animals and helping with other caretaking tasks.
City Trash Clean-Up: Picking up trash in Shepard Boulevard Park and along Stadium Boulevard.
Caring Ministry Holiday Bag Decorating at church: Decorating bags for our annual caring ministry holiday outreach.
Caring Ministry Holiday Bag Cookie Baking at church: Rolling out, cutting out, sprinkling and baking cookies for holiday outreach.
R.E. Service Sunday Blanket Prep at church: Cutting out and preparing fleece blankets for kids to tie together on their Service Sunday on Dec. 6, 2015.
