Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 was a very busy day at UUCC. In addition to the normal activities, our annual stewardship campaign kicked off, and there was an all-congregation meeting in the early afternoon to discuss what our facilities say about us as a community and how our facilities might be changed to better achieve our mission of radical welcome, deep connection and helping to heal our world.
The stewardship campaign began during worship with a “Stewardship Moment” by Jeffrey Richter, this year’s Stewardship Team Chair, and continued with Rev. Molly’s sermon in which she spoke of the “fire of commitment” and introduced the subject of our church becoming a “Sanctuary Congregation.” She said learning opportunities will be provided in the near future about the sanctuary possibility. Listen to an audio podcast of the sermon.
At the facilities meeting, congregants generated a number of ideas that will be considered further by a task force to be created by the Board of Trustees.
