Continuing members and new participants are invited to the UUCC Dining Group‘s kickoff of this year’s activities – a potluck dinner at church at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. Drinks and bread will be furnished. Each individual or couple should bring a dish to serve six. Please call Melinda Farhangi at 573-445-6325 to let her know you will attend and what dish you will bring.
At the potluck the group will plan the themes of the five “Dinners for Eight” to be held in members’ homes from October through March and will sign up to host and attend the dinners.
The in-home dinners can be thought of as “organized potlucks.” They are great settings for serious conversations among UU members and friends. Hosts arrange the times for the dinners and provide the hors d’oeuvres. Other couples or singles bring the entrée, the vegetable and salad, the dessert, and bread if needed.
In December the entire group will enjoy an hors d’oeuvres party at Church. In April the group will celebrate with a “Spring Fling Potluck” at church.
Dining Group dues of $12.50/person provide funds for drinks, bread, an entrée for the Spring Fling, printing, mailing and a generous donation to the church.
