April 9-10, 2016 – Chris Crass Weekend at UUCC

Thanks to the efforts of our Social Action Team, renowned anti-racist author and educator Chris Crass conducted a community workshop to empower social justice action in mid-Missouri at UUCC on April 9 and preached at both worship services on April 10.

The theme of the four-hour workshop on April 9 was “building the power of love against the death culture of white supremacy.” The workshop was funded in part by the Fund for Unitarian Universalist Social Responsibility. See a list of other contributors.

More information about Chris Crass is available here.

The Social Action Team envisions that the workshop will help us build on the transformative events initiated by the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. and the student movements at MU to create more opportunities for awakening among white people in Missouri.
