This is our Memorial Day service, in which we focus on the gifts given to us by those who came before us.

Based on a story about two penguins in one of our nation’s zoos, we look at how that story modeled one form of family life.

We experience common occurrences in our daily lives. To what extent do we understand such ordinary things as extraordinary moments we are called to cherish and revere?

“The resurrection is not only a problem for Unitarian Universalists. It is a problem for liberal Christians and others who, living in the modern world, have come to question the orthodox and dogmatic understandings of resurrection,” so says one of our Unitarian Universalist ministers. This Easter we will explore what possible meanings the season can hold for Unitarian Universalists.

The “Story for All Ages” for the service that included the children is about a sickly king and how even kings can get tired of the dreary winter. How about the rest of us mortals longing for spring in the midst of winter? What does winter mean in our lives?

Base on the book “The Faith Club” by three women authors of children’s books the question is raised about how our stereotypes of other person’s religion and faith values keep us from understanding each other? Is there any hope of breaking through the systems of separation, particularly between the West and the faith tradition of Islam? On what basis can a dialog begin?

The film Chocolat has many stories in it.  It also has many images that reinforces the meaning of the film – that of conflict between rigid rules and open possibilities.

Following the monthly “Story for All Ages” about a fearful horse and the help he gets from his animal friends, we reflect upon how we are aided by those in this community.

We are by now in the depths of the cold and darkness of winter. Although the Christmas season offered the opportunity to await the hope within the darkness, now that it is with us, how do we do that?

We are past the seasons of Hanukkah and Christmas, and what to do we have?  Maybe just a handful of New Years resolutions to try to set our records straight, but is there more?
